System Administrator - Linux

Responsibilities:
* Incumbent shall be responsible for administration, support and monitoring of Linux based servers, Systems and Services.

* Will be responsible for the management and administration of Linux servers;

* Will be involved in monitoring of Computer System resources and application;

* Shall be responsible for the support and maintenance of Linux Systems and Core Applications to the end users;

* Execute Backup and Recovery Services for Operational Computer Systems;

* Will be involved in complete security audits on a routine basis;

* Perform administrative scripting with Perl, Python and shell;

* Maintain Computer Systems within the agreed SLA's (Service Level Agreements);

* Problem solving and analysis of system failures and reported incidents;

* Set-up, manage and implement Linux servers in VMWARE environment;

* Manage servicedesk for IT operation and application support.

Requirements:

The Candidate is expected to possess the following skills:

* A Degree or Diploma in IT with 3-5 years of experience in Linux server administration;

* Should have the ability to gather requirements, design and implement appropriate solutions;

* Must possess experience with multi server environments/deployments;

* Should have experience in Tape library and management;

* Must have excellent Communication and possess experience with end-user support;

* Able to perform in a 7x24 support environment;

* Should have experience in automation via scripting;

* Possess good knowledge in Disaster Recovery;

* Experience in High availability, failover scenarios and load balancing environments;

* Should be able to work in a global team & communicate well at all levels;

* Should have experience in documentation of process and procedures.


Desired Skills:
* RedHat Certification is more preferred;

* Experience in SuSE and other Linux distribution;

* Experience in Windows 2003/2008 is a Plus.
